Please join us to learn more about the grant program and how municipalities, non-profits, educational institutions and state organizations can apply for grants through the Urban and Community Forestry (U&CF) Grant Program in 2019.
What is the Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program?
The Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program is funded by the USDA Forest Service and administered by the NC Forest Service (NCFS). This 1:1 match program promotes and supports projects which enhance the urban environment, educate the public and initiate urban forestry programs in communities. Examples of eligible projects include tree ordinance creation, street tree inventory, urban forestry management plans, workshops and educational materials. Why a workshop?
The Urban and Community Forestry Grant Program is requesting all potential applicants to attend one of the offered workshop sessions, even if you have attended this workshop in the past, or successfully applied for a grant. Workshop attendees will learn:
Applications received from communities or organizations that did not have a representative attend will receive lower priority in the review process in 2019.
