2016 Urban Forestry Award Winners

 

The NC Urban Forest Council proudly presents the  NC Urban Forestry Awards at its annual conference.  The goal of the award program is to award communities, organizations and individuals for outstanding work in protecting and enhancing our community forests. This awards program is a way to give back to those who have been committed to creating healthy urban forests and raising community awareness of the importance of these projects.


It is with pleasure that we announce the 2016 recipients of the 2016 Urban Forestry Awards:


Bill Akers, Akers Tree Movers - Outstanding Individual/Volunteer

John Sugg, Treefull Communities - Oustanding Professional

City of Sanford - Outstanding Project

City of Wilson Appearance Commission - Outstanding Tree Board

 

We would also like to recognize the NC Forest Service, Urban & Community Forestry Program annual award recipient: Town of Cramerton - NC Tree City (USA) of the Year.
